Very interesting timing effects. Though the processing and effects kinda robbed it of the smoothness usually becoming a video.

No, Ankh, that's the point, especially if they are emulating Mike Jittlov. There's no processing, and the effects are completely in-the-camera -- they're stop-motion animating themselves.
For instance, check out these two videos by Mike Jittlov, who essentially pioneered the concept thirty-plus years ago.
The first is Jittlov's best-known work. The second half (1:42 and onward) shows this effect, and you can see how faithfully OK Go has reproduced it.
