She's got a benign tumor right on the surface of the brain, under the occipital bone, in an area of "low activity" (insert obligatory "big brother rags on little sister" comment here).  It's expected to be a routine, if longish, procedure, with little in the way of anticipated side effects.  There apparently will be no need for rehab afterward, for instance.
I told her I would post a notice here so that all and sundry may offer their wishes for a successful procedure and speedy recovery, and so that those inclined to prayer or its equivalent in their belief systems may do so.  So I have, and thank you all in advance.

She has my prayers and best wishes.

Same here. May she have the most boring and uneventful of surgeries and recoveries.
Good Luck Smile

I wish her the best.  My younger brother had a brain tumor that was impacting his pituitary gland removed a few years back, and he's doing fine now.  Isn't modern medical science amazing? Smile

I echo BA, and submit whatever little an agnostic's prayers are worth.
Nancy has come through her surgery with flying colors, and last I heard was in recovery.
Thank you all.

*Confetti* Hooray! Good to hear good news medically.

*thumbs up*
Excellent
that is good news!

Here is hoping for a bland and boring recovery (cause exciting and new are never good when dealing with medical issues).

Good to hear. I didn't want to risk wishing luck.
I just spoke to my sister on the phone, and she is just as bossy and argumentative as ever. She did not sound at all like I expected someone who had brain surgery less than 36 hours ago to sound like -- she sounded as though I had just called her up at home one lazy afternoon. She should be out of the hospital by the end of the weekend, and she's already demanding to know when Peggy and I are going to come down and see her. So I think she's recovering just fine.
