Princess Maker-like strategy game and Oh my god does the protagonist have the cutest death scenes.
At some point I'm gonna hafta do the note-taking, min-maxing route... because RP-ing the Queen-to-be properly gets you dead.
I'm having fun, but YMMV.
Warnings: Visual Novel, JRPG-like, etc etc.

I've played that game.

It's really really hard not to die before week 40 (when you get crowned). That's kind of normal when you are a young girl unprepared to take on the throne while you have to deal with a deadly decadent court (there are implications that your aunt is responsible for atleast 3 different attempts on your life on her own) as well as foreign attempts to subjugate your nation.
So what happens if you try the "be a sneaky conniving Longknife Bitch" route?

Sucrose Octanitrate.
Proof positive that with sufficient motivation, you can make anything explode.
You get given a box of chocolates and get poisoned because you didn't pay attention to either Economics or the dogs in the kennels.

This game intrigues me, but I have enough unplayed games on steam that I'll hold off until the christmas sale before buying it.
