Paul Allen has located the wreck of the IJN Musashi, one of the two largest battleships ever built.

I can't tell from the images on Paul Allen's site whether the Musashi is in one piece.

It's still to early to know what's going to come of this discovery - but I'm hoping the wreck becomes a memorial to the 1000+ crew who went down with the ship.

It might be possible the ship is intact, but more likely it broke up on hitting the bottom.

Since she capsized, Musashi's main gun turrets most likely fell out of their mounts; the expedition did film one empty turret hole. Was there report of a massive explosion when she sank like what happened to Yamato? If so, the Big M would have broken up like the Big Y did. If not, she may have sunk relatively intact.

There's some debate as to what actually happened at the time...
