There's a series of commercials in Canada that promote Canadian history - the "Heritage Minutes" are usually about happy, feel-good parts of our history.

The latest one ... isn't.

It's good that they are owning up to it though. There's plenty of countries that would try and hide such a shameful part of their history.

Agreed - and we're owing up to it because there are too many people who didn't know it happened. (I.e., there was at least one person who didn't know it happened.)

One thing that isn't mentioned in the video is that the inquiry into Chanie Wenjack's death was what brought the whole horrid, terrible situation out into the open.

It's been taken down, alas. It was a video of a beat cop on the Canada Day patrol, dancing with a passer-by who accidentally knocked her hat off.

I love these glove and boots guys. Especially this "Product Testing" video (the conceit is they buy a few infomercial products and test them out)
