Cinamon Hadley, the woman who was the model for the design for Death of the Endless in Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg’s The Sandman died. She succumbed to cancer at only 48 years old.

For those curious enough, her obit at post-punk.com has several photos, including two side-by-side with an almost identical drawing of Death.
Edgar Ray Killen, a Ku Klux Klan organizer who planned and directed the murders of three civil rights activists participating in the Freedom Summer of 1964, died in prison on January 11.

He was found guilty of three counts of manslaughter in June 21, 2005, forty-one years after the crime had happened.

I'd consider that a borderline case in terms of "cursed" status. I mean, yes, any man's death diminishes me, but I for one find I can bear this particular diminution with enormous fortitude.

i'm sorry, but i have to say this. Occasionally someone brightens this world simply by leaving it, and while it is not our place to label such individuals ourselves, there are simply some we can rejoice in their passing on to their final justice.
