The subject line is a quote from Microsoft commits: We're buying GitHub for $7.5 beeeeeeellion, originally by "JMcPhee". (It's just before the part about how GitLab's getting very busy compared to last week.)

Speaking of alternate Gits, I'll just quote one paragraph from the article:
