You may have heard about local governments shutting down kids' lemonade stands for lacking permits and health department approvals, and you probably thought it was an urban legend, a bit of propaganda about governmental overreach and having no sense of humor and whatnot.

Sad to say, it's not an urban legend.

And Country Time Lemonade has established a legal team to help kids who get busted by local authorities for their lemonade stands.

Quote:"Life doesn't always give you lemons, but when it does, you should be able to make and share lemonade with the neighborhood without legal implications," Legal-Ade says on its website. "That's why we're here to take a stand for lemonade stands across the nation."
In a video posted on YouTube, Country Time said the team is "making sure no kid is denied their right to a lemonade stand."
Be glad when it's only the city government that shuts down the lemonade stands. You don't want the feds involved. (Two-year-old story, with a happy ending for the girls.)

Good to see a company standing up for their customers.
