You know, I've been meaning to ask for a while... just what is the angry women and cat meme about and from? It just started showing up in my feeds and I don't know the origins of it, so I'm sure I'm missing critical subtext that makes its use funnier.

I figured it was originally complaining about vegans, but don't actually know either.

Well. Turns out you're sorta kinda right, but only at one remove. I did what I should have done as soon as I started wondering, which is of course go to Google, which then pointed me at Know Your Meme. There really isn't that much underlying it.

That one about Australia is unfortunately too accurate for comfort.
