On the Rec's side - I've been following a story for months now, but been hesitant to rec because YMMV (OC/SI has been added to the standard Main Cast - causing butterflies) - but it is a good twist on the usual Naruto fic and much better than usual of the OC/SI type (Not overpowered, Mary Sue or perfect):

Statute Under Siege (Harry Potter/Fate Stay Night/Mahou Sensei Negima)

Aurors Ron Weasley and Bazett Fraga McRemitz are assigned to pursue the rogue homunculus Fate Averruncus, after his attack on the Kansai Magic Association.

Only three chapters so far, but it looks promising. Negima stories are few and far between, and this one is handling the triple fusion very well.

"Ridiculously Overboard" - Battletech - The Outworlds Alliance and Clan Snow Raven are bedeviled by none other than The Great Pirate Roberts!.

A new story by Greyff (AKA Greylle, Metroanime and Gregg Sharp, among other handles over the past 25 years or so): All Guns Blazing: The Yamato, now with an AI controlling it, is decommissioned and scuttled into a dimensional abyss after several centuries of service. Instead of being destroyed she is surprised to find herself emerging over an alternate earth, and encountering the Queen Administrator just in time to strike up a partnership of sorts with the shard when Taylor Hebert has her trigger.

Only one chapter so far, and who knows how far he'll go with it, but it has possibilities.

Not EXACTLY a fanfic rec, but certainly something interesting to read.

A tale told in two converging storylines, separated by time-frame.

This is a novel-length work, and while it will be released one chapter per week for 15 weeks, it has been completed by the author. The characters are all original characters (no self-insert characters), but with cameos and flashbacks / mentions of canon characters to contextualize the story within the larger SW universe and Prequel / late Galactic Empire era. Although there are no graphic depictions, there are occasionally some mature subjects that some may find triggery. No explicit sexual depictions, but relationships and intimacy are a part of the story.

I'm currently enjoying Opalescent Reflections, a Battletech story where some very different from the norm characters end up becoming very important members of Comstar and the Clans.

It starts when an accident ends up triggering a small civil war among the Precentors that just about decapitates Comstar soon before the Clan invasion.

Circa 2018, due to a prison sentence, Murdoc Niccals was temporarily replaced as Gorillaz' bass player by Ace Copular, of Townsville's infamous Gangreen Gang, to generate, and tour in support of, that year's album The Now Now. On Niccals' eventual return to the band, he reported that Copular had become a doomsday prepper and moved out to a compound in the desert.

That, plus "canon-typical violence" and "canon-typical behavior" from Murdoc (among other warnings), constitutes the background to Hollywood Special, the Gorillaz/Powerpuff Girls crossover I never knew I needed.
