Full Version: [Background, RFC] I blame Mal

But that's okay, because I'm sure Mal blames me in return.

Since somebody put them into Fenspace by putting a "page does not exist" link on the "VVS Factory Ga-38" page, I figured I should start a writeup for this 'Dane organization.

This part is reasonably safe to run with, I think:
Quote:{{stub}}
The '''Solomon Space Agency''' was formed in the early days of space colonization in order to take advantage of the fact that the Solomon Islands have not signed the Outer Space Treaty. The agency's purpose is to commercialize space travel, space exploration, and space-related business on a large scale.

Headquartered on Choiseul Island (the northernmost non-atoll island of the Solomon Islands), the SSA maintains three launch pads, a fully-modern vehicle assembly facility, and a research compound dedicated to hardtech space travel.

This part, not so much... so I want the Collective's opinion before posting it to the Wiki:
Quote:== Solomon Space Agency known staff ==

=== Ground Crew ===
Isao Nasuda (Director)
Dr. Satsuki Asahikawa (Mission Crew Doctor)
Motoko Mihara (Chief Chemist)

=== Mission Crew ===
Yukari Morita (pilot)
Matsuri Morita (pilot)

*whistles innocently*

Like I said way back when, I am not adverse to dropping Rocket Girls into the Fenspace canon, which is why I dropped that link in there. I didn't expect it to get capitalized on it so soon, but...

"I. Drink. Your. NERDRAGE!"
Well, I've been meaning to myself since A) I brought it up (at least I think I did) and B) I had the idea of them getting an assist from the nascent HARDES Division of the Roughriders. Unfortunately, though, life happens. (^_^Wink
I'm for including it all, myself.

Guess which soundtrack album I was listening to today.

Okay, it looks like the entire stub is a "go". (And this means we have another possible running gag: Noah will keep trying to poach Matsuri from the SSA, and she'll keep saying no...)

Edit: It's in. And I put this section in as well, before " Solomon Space Agency Known Staff":
Quote:== Fleet ==

The SSA builds its own two-stage-to-orbit single-use hardtech rockets (which it names after types of seeds), and maintains a wavetech [[VVS Factory Ga-38] as an emergency vehicle.

Hrm... The names, unless I am mistaken, are Tanpopo (Japanese for Dandelion), Coconut, and Mangostien. That's from the anime, though. THings might run a bit differently in the Fenspace version, especially considering that we've already proposed an expansion of their vehical fleet and pilot pool.

As foir why Matsuri keeps turning Noah down... She claims that while she does indeed love going up into orbit every now and then, she still prefers to come back home to the Solomons at the end of the mission. What can you say? She's a wilderness girl.
She's also loyal to her sister, who Noah doesn't want to hire...
