All those references to Fenspace not having folding money because there are better uses for paper?

This is doubly-embarrassing considering that Australia hasn't had paper money since before handwavium was discovered.

Now how do we explain why Fenspace is a cashless society?

Fenspace doesn't have folding money 'cause there are better uses for plastic, too.

And there are better, and more important, uses for those given that we're terraforming two planets. Quite frankly, the resources available that could be used for cash are either far more useful for other things or have little relative intrinsic value in Fenspace. Hence the Biomass standard.
Not to mention that in a null- or micro-G environment, as such as you have on some Fen craft still (or when gravity fails), having little bits and pieces floating around can be a serious hazard.
