Currently reading Diane Duane's latest Young Wizards novel (if you don't know, go buy it - very worth it!) and our heroes are getting into all kinds of misadventure.
In a pinch, one of the main characters pulls something out of his hat: a grenade spell that consists of a pinhead's worth of Strange Matter and "three syllables of the Denaturation Fraction."
Could we make something like this in Fenspace?
I think that might be a serious violation of the Rule of Slapstick ... but I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.

"Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose
them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of
the same sovereign, servants of the same law."

- Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012
I'll find some time to research this further. Just figuring out how this works in her books is gonna be a chore. I love Diane Duane for bringing the sciences into her school of wizardry, but sometimes she delves a bit too deeply into the science-side for some people's liking.
