I've just made it much,
much easier to keep the
http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... t_Registry]Spacecraft Registry updated - in fact, we should never have to manually edit the list of ships on that page again.
Now, when you create a page for a space vehicle, you simply add the appropriate tag to the bottom:
- {{Space Craft}}
- {{Space Ships}}
- {{Space Vessels}}
- {{Space Stations}}
- {{Space Docks}}
"Space Stations" corresponds to what the Spacecraft Registry calls "Space Ports", the other four match their Spacecraft Registry names.
Once you've done that and saved your page, view the navigation box, edit that page, and add your ship to the appropriate line. That updates both the navigation box and the Spacecraft Registry at the same time.

Now that is nifty, Rob! *polite golf clap*

Thanks.
Oh, yes - I also set up the system so you don't need to add the "Spacecraft" and "Space (whatever)" category tags to ship writeups. They're also added automagically when you use the appropriate tag.

The new registry system looks great, Rob -- but your text for Space Stations on that page still said "Space Ports" in several places. I've gone in and fixed it.

Thanks, Bob.
(I was up past my bedtime when I announced the change last night, and I had a must-attend farewell party... er, meeting... today, so I had left the job unfinished but usable. There's still a few things I need to do with the spacecraft pages before the switchover is complete.)
Edit: And now they're done.

Mal created pages for two of the three classic space station designs a while ago. I just added a page for
http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Stanford_torus]the other one.

Meh - those are not-so-good compressed versions (and unattributed, to boot) of images
http://settlement.arc.nasa.gov/70sArt/art.html]available from NASA. Let's use the better-quality ones.
(grabs the first one on the NASA page, since it's the only Island Three station there, and adds it to the FenWiki)

Rob, it looks like you forgot to put a texture on her ears and whiskers.
D'oh!
Something to do sometime soon...

I threw this O'Neill "Cylinder" together the other day. MonkeyFist said if he got the inspiration to do so, he might make a better one.
We really should set up a FenWiki account for you, so you can upload your work directly... assuming, of course, that you want one.

I think it's best, for the moment, that I don't have one. That way, everyone can see the images before they go in, and can decide if they like them or not.
As you wish...
Ah - I just put something at the
http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... Lagrange_1]Earth-Luna L1 point. That bit of space was looking rather empty, and what I put there is a natural fit...

Looks like we just had an editing party! (Yay!)
Dartz got the "Surface Craft" and "Highway Star" pages up, along with almost all the auxiliary work to make that an actual subsection of the FenWiki instead of just a collection of related pages.
I tackled the cleanup of the Independent Faction page - while it isn't complete, it's a lot better than it was, and various related pages are now in sync with it. I also created a page for the Tomed Incident (which I hope Mal will flesh out sometime, since that's his baby).
Our resident cartoonist updated the Mystery of the Fen from Outer Space page... with a note.
And Mal did editorial-type stuff - very important to the smooth running of the FenWiki.

Yes, well, I hope the hiatus won't last too long. It really depends on how long it takes for me to find an apartment and dig my art supplies, and the computer with photoshop on it, out of storage. On the other hand, I ought to have free time to work on other writing projects that I've been neglecting, and plot out how to get to the end of the Mystery.

I took the liberty of filling in the blanks on
http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... #The_Fleet]the Fleet list of the Gagarin-class ships. (Yes, I followed the naming convention.) I also took a cue from the NextGen episode "The Naked Now" and gave the Starfleet ships with non-Latin names their non-Latin spellings, with translations provided. (No, not everything in Cyrillic is Russian - there's a Ukranian name, a Belarus name, and a Bulgarian name in the mix...)

*Flails over laughing at the XFor naming convention*
Hear that thunder rolling till it seems to split the sky?
That's every ship in Grayson's Navy taking up the cry-
NO QUARTER!!!

Yeah, Mal totally digs on The Culture naming convention.
ETA: Oh, and I suppose that XFor code for the Magnificent Midnight is No Posted Speed Limit?
Hmm. Astronauts, Cosmonauts, and Laika, but no
Albert, Sam, and Ham? Well, I suppose no one wants a spaceship that might end up flinging poo as one of its 'wave quirks.

It's a secret weapon. The Boskonians will never recover!

It's not just a secret weapon, it's a source of wealth! Think of the colonies who'll want those ships to land just for the biomass they leave behind!
