We know handwavium can make non-living material into living material...
I understand there are watermelons sold labelled as "Godzilla Eggs"...

If you make-up handwavium with dissolved videos, manga, movie posters...
Then soak the 'egg'...
Do you think a thermal vent on an active volcano would make a good hatchery? [grin]
Would Atomic Radiation be required? [grin]

(I'm thinking the original Gojira here, not the modern monstrosity.)

One should add some lizard DNA to that handwavium mix, just to be sure...

And I suspect somebody on Monster Asteroid has at least given this a try. No thermal vents there, though.

I'd expect something more like a watermelon based Biolante, myself.

You could use any bird DNA, and the Red Dwarf episode where they regress the DNA of a sparrow into a T Rex?

Still, mixing in a "Red Dwarf" episode with an egg supposed to hatch Gojira...

Hmm...
I guess what you really want are eggs that you could use to grow a wide range of daikaiju from...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiju
So, all the old videos from the genre go into the handwavium, and you 'fertilise' the egg with the essence of the particular one you want?
Mind you, the biomass requirements to make this work, never mind feed the fully-grown ones, look pretty drastic.
Then I guess there is this:

Really, the idea is preposterous, no scientist would do such a thing. Honest. ~hides a box of assorted eggs under the lab bench~

I'm not convinced Marduk is big enough for this kind of work...

It is not. That is why Oscar's AI children keep accidentally visiting him every time he spends more than two days in a row in the lab...
They may also have a couple numbers of the Monster Asteroid and the Vesta Institue of Biotechnology in their phone memories.

Attack of the Fifty-Foot Cat, anyone?

Nuff Said...
Still, at least no one has suggested Attack of the Fifty-Foot Cat Girl...
I'd like to know what sort of eggs hatch giant cats/kittens...

As long as you are prepared to pay their restaurant bills. Smile

No doubt there will be McCaffrey fans that use this concept to try and create Dragon or Firelizard eggs.

I guarantee we've built at least one McCaffrey based AI dragonmech SC aboard the 'curl, and there's probably some nutter with a skinsuit and an Escafanboy - ahem, Escaflowne - at Marsbase Sara. Not quite what you mean, but it would be at least one fellow Pernie for yours to hang out with.
