Hey kids. So, um. Could I get all the Candle collaborators - and folks who want to contribute, more the merrier - to drop by IRC sometime this weekend? We've things to discuss about going forward.

Thanks for putting this version somewhere other then SB Mal. Makes it much easier to read
Hades mal I thought we weren't going with this version. I thought you were going to the "new" version I left Gretchen hanging mentally and was working myself into the new version.
On the other hand nice chapter post.
Padraig you stupid, smug, blabbermouth son of a bitch...

Way I see it, Padraig is rich as fuck. He's a solid second place for Richest Man in Fenspace, and fervently wants to be in first place. In addition, he tried to show off how clever he was to the Jumpship captain, and his greed at the potential profit he could have made overrode his sense of "keep your goddamn trap shut" when it comes to information the other guy honestly didn't need to know. Unfortunately for his checkbook, the non-essential information caused the potential partner to do a runner, and he'll likely pocket the entire proceeds from this little jaunt, and Padraig won't see a dime.
Edit: Further, Padraig may have spilled the beans as a gesture of trust. "Hey, my government wanted to impound you guys, but we shouted them down! You have nothing to fear!" Minamoto, on the other hand, heard the information through the filter of a guy who's a pirate first, businessman
second. Where Padraig was trying to show how trustworthy he was, Minamoto heard "That's a nice Jumpship you got there. Shame if something happened to it..."
Yeah. I'm really hoping this hits Padrig personally. He's too smug to admit he was wrong, but still...
He's firmly showing why he's always Number 2. He's a smug shite.

So, who's the richest man in Fenspace - Marsden or Scott?

By numbers I'd probably say Marsden by a nose, but Scott's the one Padraig's fixated on as "the guy" to beat:
* Noah Scott has his own private space station, so Padraig O'Neill built one for himself.
* Noah Scott owns a fleet of space shuttles, so Padraig O'Neill bought his own as a luxury yacht.
* Noah Scott is constantly surrounded by beautiful women, so Padirag O'Neill only hires female assistants.
* Etc.

Shit, a few weeks without time to read and suddenly I have a lot to catch up.
Just throwing this out there - you're still welcome to use my Pavonis material from the old Candle, Mal.
I need to catch you on IRC Sunday to discuss some adjustments to the Anatallos section
