Okay, I'm looking for advice. I'm finally getting around to fixing up some enhancement sets for Evangelia -- mainly because I got half the Crushing Impact recipes one after the other on Sunday (and btw, anyone got any of those? I'd be willing to buy them off you for market price if they're ones I need). So I'd like recommendations for sets useful to the Broadsword/Invulnerability combination. I know I can page through the listings at Wentworth's, but I figure the combined knowledge of the group here should be able to filter out a good collection for me faster than I could do it by hand.
Also, one question -- can I use the same set more than once? I mean, can two different attacks use Crushing Impact, for example? Or does it have to be different each time?
Thanks.-- Bob

One of the primary differences between the Left and the Right is their attitude toward the Future. The Radical wants the Future to have gotten here yesterday. The Reactionary wants the Future quietly shot and the corpse buried where no one can find it.

Most of the non-name {Positron's Blast, Ghost Widow's Embrace, etc] IO sets can be used in their entirety in more than one power. Provided you have the lots/Inf of course.

Thanks, Logan.
So, then, does anyone have any good suggestions for sets I should look for? -- Bob

As far as I understand it, unless the set does not bear the modifier 'Unique' you can use it on multiple powers. If it -is- unique, once you've slotted that enhancement, you can't use another like it in any other power, unless you remove/delete the first.
As far as sets, and what ones to get, I am pretty much ignorant.[Image: smalldarksideoc5.png]

In a related question, has anyone seen a good online reference to the sets? I find the ah interface painful to use and somewhat crashy, which makes comparing things hard.

I generally use Paragonwiki. It may not be the best resource, but it's what I refer to. =)
A table of IO sets and the main article on IOs, which lists the uniques and has some useful data on procs.

As a general rule, I find the named sets to be of dubious value considering their cost. While the recipes themselves can be quite cheap, the ingredients are ludicrously expensive, which mean unless you're lucky, you're hosed.
I generally aim for sets that give me useful bonuses with 3-4 parts in them. Some of my favorite sets are the ones that are only 3 items long.--

There are lots of options. Crushing Impact is a great set not only because of the bonuses, but because it's a non-rare set. Relatively inexpensive to craft. Several awesome set bonuses, including bonuses to accuracy and recharge for ALL powers and higher max health.
On my DM/Regen, I have Shadow Punch and Smite both slotted with 5 of the Crushing Impact and the Touch of Death Chance for Negative Damage Proc IO. Putting a full CI set in your powers may be more desirable for your Inv scrapper, since the 6th set bonus is Psi Resist. I'm saving Midnight Grasp for the new Ultra-rare Melee damage set. (All of the Ultra-rare sets are Unique)
That's the best thing I like about the IO system. You have lots of options for ways you can slot the new sets and you can be uber with more than just one option. Choices ftw!

I have five CI currently slotted on one of Eva's attacks, and I'm planning on doing the same for all the other non-AOE ones she has left (I put Mako's Bite on Disembowel, I have 3 or 4 of those slotted there already). CI does indeed seem to be the way to go, with +7% accuracy to all attacks every time you have enough slotted. I can deal with that. -- Bob

Any thoughts on ones for the regen powers?

Triage is fantastic - IIRC, it works really well with IH.

On another note, does anyone have an Empowered Sigil that I can steal for Bowtruckle? I've got 4 parts of a Ghost Widow set complete, I'd like to try for 5.--

For Dull Pain, Reconstruction, and Instant Healing, the full Doctored Wounds set in each is the way to go. Keeps the recharge fully enhanced, plus gives a bonus to recharge of all powers as a set bonus. DP and Recon can come back up VERY fast now.
Fast Healing gets 6 slotted now. Yes, 6 slotted. Here's the slotting recommendation for Fast Healing from evilgeko's I9 Regen guide:
IO recommendations:
47+: Numinas Convalescence Heal/End, Numinas Convalescence Heal/Recharge, Numinas Convalescence Heal, Numinas +recovery, +regen, Miracle +recovery, Regenerative Tissue +regen
Why this slotting? Well, first, I put all three of the unique healing IOs that provide new power effects here. Reason being is that as a passive, Fast Healing cannot be turned off, and so these effects will be permanent. After that, youll notice that I slot multi-attribute enhancers in Fast Healing although it only takes Healing. Well the reason is to get the set bonuses. Numinas Convalescence has a number of really good set bonuses and most of them come early.
Here's a link to the full guide. VERY helpful.

The problem I have with those recommendations is that as an Named Orange set, Numina's Conv is an exceedingly expensive set to collect and build.--

Is it certain that the bonuses from the unique IOs work constantly if they're in a passive? Frankly that seems a bit surprising.
Numina's might be expensive... but those sure look like nice bonuses.
The user interface is a bit weird, but it's a hero designer program that supports IOs and can show the effects of set bonuses, among some other interesting things.

from what I understand passive powers simply auto activate every 10 seconds and last 10.25 seconds. So you get all the goodness bonus all the time.-Terry

So I was poking around on the CoH boards, and I found this thread.

It's a guide to using various mixes of IOs, ignoring set bonuses, to match or outperform SOs relatively inexpensively. And contains links to some other useful things.
I'm not sure I'll want to slot anything like that, but it might be of use to someone.
