ok, So I'm hoping to lay out a significant new chunk of VIIOR content while my muse is here and active (and entertained by Gamma, so expect more of her
soon as well).

But I need to ping some of the other people on a few points:

1) who is around Bob's house 3-4 weeks from the incident (clank's arrival point)

2) Would clank be accepted with open arms or given probationary status? Will an escort be provided for the trip back to CA to get the rest of her gear (and if
so who is up for it)?

3) What is our timeline for various happenings? I know that we had 5 major plot points laid out:

Arc 1: 'I'm wearing what?!', wherein people realize what's happened to them, realize what they can do, and cope with the personal
repercussions.

Arc 2: In which PVP freaks, griefers, and generally power-hungry jerkwads start to go off the rails as they realize what they've stumbled into.

Arc 3: In which the grown-ups catch up to what's happening and start to take what steps they feel neccessary to deal with it.

Arc 4: In which the first 'true supervillains' begin to crop up - not just wrecking banks for pocket change, but holding cities for ransom, taking over
third-world countries, etc.

Arc 5: In which Portal Corp finally tracks down what came of the colliding probes.

I assume that at 3-4 weeks in we are still firmly in Arc 3, anyone have problems with this (if so I can shift some of planned time tables around)

4) What are peoples thoughts on a base of operations? Is an effort underway to augment Bob's house (as this seems like the current de facto gathering area)
with things like: medical bays, research areas, communications, crude teleportation setups (summoning if nothing else), and of course enough POWER to run it
all. Clank is inclined to setup a place separate from residential housing, but I have no clue what other people lean towards. Bob of course gets final call as
to what happens in his house [Image: smile.gif]

The reason I ask is, Clank will begin to setup an east coast operations center. The question is just if she will be starting this on her own or augmenting
something that already exists.

I'm really hoping to get some sort of answer on #1 and #2, as they have the largest effect on the bits I'm planning. #3 and #4 can wait and be fleshed
out after I have the first few bits posted.

Flame can be used as a "plot bitch" if needed, as Im not quite in control of her >< She was
SMASHing Fort Knox last time we checked in with her...
There is no coincidence, only necessity....

3-4 weeks in... V!Nogi is getting screwed over by the US Gummint. That is, she's been "officialized" as a "foreign national" who gained
citizenship through "marriage" to his/herself. This means that come 2012, V!Nogi CANNOT legally run for President. Lessee, we definitely have a few
attention seekers amongst the Virtues playing nice for celebrity gossip magazines, but of course they want the ones who don't want anything to do with
them...

Another point: the Empire of Japan is making overtures to get Nogi a Passport if the US drags its feet too long, she'll have a Japanese passport waiting
for her at the Embassy.

Lessee, given Nogi's flair for the dramatic, she'll probably walk into the main offices in the DC area for her documentation in full panoply...

Some of our ideas for sub arcs for part 3 include:

"Two Week's Notice" wherein some of our Virtues discover that their day job is no longer an option.

"Big in Japan" Some of the Legendary/Infamous tour Japan on other people's dimes. Nogi, on the Imperial Family's; Numero Catorce. on a
Wrestling promoter's.

them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.''

Would folks be interested in a wiki setup for us to keep this story on? It would make posting story bits and OOC bits like timeline and planning easier.

I'm planning to set myself up a website this week, I could include this.

I think a wiki would be wonderful, it would definitely allow for a better layout of the stories/plot/meta-ideas than we currently have.

I've got some versatile webspace available if people think a wiki would be a good idea.

Questions:

1. Barring any reason it'd be a bad idea, Alexis is planning on moving to the area. So, it's fine to say she's around.

2. Alexis has no previous experience with her (and at the time VIIOR started, the author had barely *heard* of CP), therefore won't have much opinion one
way or the other. Unless CP's desire to find a method of dimension travel comes up, in which case she'll become very supportive of whatever helps with
that.

3. Sounds about right. Though some people didn't take very long to go off the rails. (Had some the first day, I think?)

4. No idea. '.'

Interestingly enough, the piece I'm vaguely working on at the moment is Alexis deciding she *can* keep her day job, but there are some potential reasons
not to...

The main problem with Flame is the time that the VIIOR event happened, she didnt know any of the legendaries. She knows Nogi (hence why the phone call) but
other than that... of course if Nogi sees Flame on the evening news after Fort Knox...
There is no coincidence, only necessity....

Oh, Shizuru would be hanging around due the the fact that she/I is probably in the same boat as Nogi, and laying kinda low, and ignoring the internet.

Laying low for the fact of working on that wonderful control of the mental powers, and staying away from the more rabid anime fanboys.

So, What's VIIOR?
Short answer. I'm sure someone will be willing to fill in the details.

VIIOR is 'Virtue Is Its Own Reward', a sort of meta-story angle conceived by Foxboy. Various people have chipped in to write bits pertaining to their own characters. The gist of it is, at such-and-such a date (I forget, somewhen in January 2007 I think), everyone logged into Virtue server at a particular hour...

...got merged with the character they were playing at the time. In the real world, I mean. With unpredictable results; some folks have ended up essentially as themselves, just in a new spandex-clad body (which would include every player who doesn't RP). Others have been completely buried by their RP persona, as CrimsonKMR did with Corrupted Flame. I will note, in particular, Foxboy wrote a piece establishing that Ghost Widow made the transition as well - initially this was cast as a particular fictional GM, though we later amended that when it became known Ghost Widow is played on the servers by the actual developer that bears her name.

So it's at once a way of taking a CoH character into the real world, talking about how a confused real world analogue needs to deal with all these crazy supers suddenly popping up from nowhere, and perhaps a little of crisis trauma and how you are relating to the situation. There's sort of a quasi-insert dynamic there, of course.

Having that Wiki would be really nice... might actually make me learn wiki programming -_- If we get that up, we should show it to Ex Libris and Lighthouse.
They seem to like that thing

Once you get things up and running, let me know. I'll penny up and buy a domain for VIIOR itself so we could set up a forwarding directly to the wiki,
since I imagine this is your own personal webspace?

Basically, yeah. I've got it set up in a subfolder off of mine.

http://www.kagetsuki.us/coh.htm will take you to the City of X page, http://www.kagetsuki.us/coh/boltwire/viior/index.php goes direct to the wiki.

Absolutely zero content so far, but feel free to drop in a few proposals for a layout...
