Many thanks to Uni, whose PUGing credentials and contacts have alerted us to the perfect Redside farm. The final mission of the "Defeat Stheno" arc
spawns not several, but HUNDREDS of boss level Snakes to slaughter for fun and profit.

As an example, both Purrfect Nemesis and Inferno Scimitar shot from level 6 to level 12 in a grand total of two runs(albeit the second at Ruthless with 8 ).

It's a bit twitchy(you can't aggro the AV, at all, or you have to reset), but the snakes come to you, which is a definite improvement, I think. Only
downside is you can't kill Stheno, so whoever gets the farm needs to be willing not to complete that arc.

"Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay
waste."
That...is interesting. I knew of that mission, but that was when people used to kill the unhatched eggs for experience...EB level experience, IIRC. And the devs specifically fixed that, much like how the Mole Machines in the Nemesis battlefield mission no longer give XP.

I didn't know people were still farmin' that...but it DOES make sense - killing the BOSSES should be pretty good as well. Hm.

Are you thinking of the mission from Burke or the mission fro Grillo?

They both are similar, but Grillo is 45-50 and those snakes are very hard hitters.

Yeah. Each egg hatches several "Cobra Hatchlings" which give boss level EXP, in addition to all the Elder such-and-such you find on your way into the
hatchery chamber.

The trick, beyond not aggroing Stheno herself, is apparently managing how many eggs hatch at once. We survived at least one accidental aggroing of three eggs
at once(which had to be at least thirty hatchlings, easy, probably more) by the skin of our teeth, and that was with a Poison MM doing nothing but healing, a
Granite Brute, and a PermaDom.

It's not remotely as easy as the BP farm over on blueside, or even the present Redside farm over in Grandville that we've been doing. However, it is
easier to access, being all the way back in Mercy and not, to quote Valles, "fucking Grandville". Tongue

And to answer Ankh's question, yeah, this is late tier from Operative Grillo. Stheno's trueborns are severely nasty compared to your average snakes,
but handleable. It's the sheer numbers that require management.

Well. If you need a granite brute, I need more slots and should get to work on 'Met' the EM/Stone Brute. [Image: tongue.gif] Those snakes were pretty rough on Ankh.

The Granite Brute just makes it easier. We had the one Brute basically to tank the entirety of those Snakespawn, and it was pretty nasty on him. With multiple
Brutes to spread the damage, it'd be easier, I imagine.

The main problem is there will be toxic damage galore.

Well I'd be up for this next time it is run. Clank will bring the happy bubbles to cut down on the toxic damage.

If I'm around, I can bring the debuffs and AoE. Obsolete's Rad/Rad should help a bit with large crowds of strong enemies. Sounds awesome.

Incidentally, who *has* Grillo's arc? He's 45-50, so if anyone *hasn't* gotten him yet, you still can via Ouroing the arc before him or such, even
if you've 50'd out. Should be a simple manner to line up a few Infamous folk with the mission.

"Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay

Luckily, I'm working towards that. Halfway through Grun's arc (which I find very fun) and after him should come Grillo. I hope to get it in the next
day or two, depending on how many EBs there are in the arc I have to take down. And I just hit 50 on Lady, so whoohoo!
I can snag Grillo on Obsolete; haven't done him, and I'm willing to park that for farming if I can get the arc. Gotta see if I have an open story arc
slot though, she's got a lot of loose ends.

Obs is my only redside highbie now, however, though Operative Parker and Battery Acid might be there soon enough.

Highest redsider I've got is 31, I'm afraid.

Why do you have to fail the arc in order to farm it?
--
Sucrose Octanitrate.
Proof positive that with sufficient motivation, you can make anything explode.
You don't have to fail the arc, you have to not finish it so you can do the mission again, and again, and again, and again...
