P.S.I. HQ

Jasmine Briar, also known as Purrfect Mess, fidgeted in her seat, ever now and again casting a quick glance at the clock. Oh man, gonna be late.
She thought, HE-AT had called her and a few other cops into a last minute meeting, something to do with the new girl, London something. All Jasmine could think
of was the fact that she had somewhere to be in a little over a hour.

"Statement: that's is all. Query: any questions?" HE-AT intoned. "Observation: No, then you are free to go."

Jasmine bolted to out the door and headed to the exit, nearly bowling over several detective out. "Sorry!" she quickly shouted over her shoulder
as she reached the teleported.

***

A few minutes later she was looking her self critically in the mirror. Bitting her lip slightly, she pulled her hair up into a lose ponytail and gave
herself a once over. She was dressing in a pair of jeans and PPD shirt, both baggy in case she had to shift sizes, not that's she plan to, but it was
better to be safe than sorry.

Pulling on a jacket and headed to the lounge and sat on the couch while she waited. Her gut was twisting with nerves, she hadn't been on a date in ages.
God I hope I don't act like an idiot. After a while there was a knock as the door, nervously, Jasmine got up and opened it, standing in the door
way with a slight grin was her date, Reeve, standing there in a nice white polo shirt and slacks, she couldn't help but notice how different he looked out
of his Captain Erstraz costume. A little voice in the back of her head also pointed out how buff he was.

"Hey kitty cat, ready to go?" he asked as he flashed a slightly cheesy smile.

"Um, s-s-sure." she stammered out. "Where are we going?"

"I was thinking dinner and then maybe you and me can go bowling. Sound good?"

"Sure… um, never been bowling before though."

Reeve smiled. "Don't worry, I can teach ya. Come on."

She was silent as the headed out to Reeve's car, unsure of what to say, till she saw the car. "Holy…. Is... Is that a Dodge charger?" she
exclaimed.

"Yep." Reeve answered. "69 dodge charger B body, took a bit of looking to find one, but it was worth it." Reeve rested his arms on the
roof. "You like it?" he asked, taping the roof.

Walking around the car, she ran a finger over the hood. "Yeah, my granddad had one of these." A smile spread across her face. "Heck, I learnt to
drive in it."

"Looks like you have his sense of good taste then."

She blushed. "T-thanks."

Reeve climbed in and then lent over to get the passenger side door. "Shall we?"

Grinning again. Jasmine hoped in and smiled as she looked around. "Hey, you even have a cassette player in here." She squealed in delight.

"Sure, never could get the hang of a CD player and didn't want to deface a classic." He grinned back and pressed play on the player, 80's
rock started blaring form the speakers as he started the car and pulled out. "Now I know this place where you can get a great burger and fries."

***

Up-n-away burgers

Reeve watched in mild amazement as Jasmine woofed down her burger, trying to figure out where she put it all. She looked up and noticed his gaze. "um…
sorry, kind of skipped lunch today, nerves." She sheepishly explained.

"Nerves? What's a pretty young thing like you got to be nervous about?" he asked as he took a sip of his shake.

Jasmine blushed. "Well… it's been a while since I've been on a date." she trailed off, looking a little embarrassed.

"I find it hard to believe that. Why, I'm surprised you aren't beating of guys with a stick."

Jasmines blush deepened. "Well, it's more a case of no one wanting to date "The Freak"."

Reeve raised an eye brow questioningly. "The Freak?"

"Yeah… nearly a year ago I was in an accident involving DE mutagens. Took the doctors over a month to fix me… and even then it wasn't a hundred
percent.' She looked down at her plate "… can... can we talk about something else?"

"Sorry, didn't mean to kill the mood." Reeve stood up and offered his hand. "How bout we go straight to bowling?"

Jasmine smiled and took his hand. "Kay, but I'll probably suck at it."

"Nah, you got me as a teacher, you'll be bowling like pro in no time."

***

Half an hour later

Super bowl.

Jasmine frowned at the ball rolled into the gutter again. "What am I doing wrong?"

Reeve stood up and walked over. "Well, lobbing it as hard as you can down the lane isn't a good start." He replied as he picked up her ball.
"Here, I'll show you how to do it."

Handing Jasmine the ball, he stood behind her and reached around and placed his hands on hers. "First of all, you need to relax your posture a bit,
you're not trying to throw it like a shot-put."

Jasmine listened to his advice, trying to block out the little voice in the back of her head that's was telling her how close he was. Biting down hard
on that little voice, she paid attention to what Reeve's was saying.

"You got it?"

"ummm… yeah I think so."

Reeve stepped back. "Okay, show em what ya got."

Eyeing off the pins, Jasmine sung back and let the ball go, it shoot down the lane and struck the pins dead on, a strike. "I did it!" jasmine
squealed.

"See, told you I'd have you bowling like a pro in no time kitty."

Jasmine stoped her celebrating when she noticed smoke coming from the lanes. "er…. Did I break something?" she asked, slowly backing up.

"Nah, it's Rock and bowl night." Reeve explained.

"What's that mean?'

Reeve pointed to the lanes, after a moment, laser lights started coming on, marking out the gutters while others started flashing patterns around the room.
Jasmine watched them flicker, mildly enthralled while music started to blare from the speakers.

(Billy Idol - Rebel Yell)

"That's what it means kitten." Picking up his ball, he walked up to the lane and let it fly. "Ads more fun and a bit of a challenge to
the game, don't ya think?"

Jasmine nodded, this was turning out to be one hell of a night.

***

3 hours (and several games) latter.

The Dodge charger pulled up outside jasmine's apartment block, still palying 80's rock. Jasmine smiled. "That was great, I can't remember
when I last had so much fun." She exclaimed breathlessly.

"So, dose that mean I get a second date?" Reeve's asked, a slightly cheese grin on his face.

"Um… if you want to." She mumbled.

"Great, so, same time next week?"

Jasmine paused for a moment, Fridays were normally her and partner Fil's night out, but then Fil also wanted her to get a social life. "Okay."
she replied, then acting on a impulse, she lent over and gave Reeve a quick kiss. "Um… hee hee, see you then."

Reeve grinned again. "Sure thing kitten. Hopefully a bit sooner"

Blushing, Jasmine opened the door and climbed out, heading to the apartment building, she stoped to wave to Reeve as he drove off. She hummed happily to her
self as she made her way upstairs and unlocked her apartment door.

Stepping in the door, Jasmine heard the sound of purring drifting down from Felis's upstairs sleeping area. She was a little disappointed that her
roommate had already gone to bed, as she felt like talking about her date. However, she didn't want to wake her up. Fil was very unhappy if she was woken
out of her sleep for anything less than a homicide. She tiptoed through the living room, through the kitchen, and into her greenhouse. To her surprise, the sun
lights were on. More surprising, Fil was sitting in her living room, in her human form, dressed in a powder blue bathrobe with a pink towel around her head,
reading a copy of "Sluthing Monthly" and sipping coffee from her mug.

As Jasmine entered, Fil looked up from her magazine. "I hope you were quiet," she said. "Snugglekitty is a light sleeper. That's why I
came in here. So....how did it go with 'Cheesy on the Outside'?"

Jasmine flipped from the sun lamps to the normal lights and dropped herself onto the couch. "It was great! He asked me on another one!" she
exclaimed excitedly.

Fil smiled. "Good. I see you didn't bring him home...never do that on the first date, unless you're sure he's the one." She chuckled
as Jazz started to blush, then leaned into Jazz's face. "Soooo...tell me all the details!"

"Well, we had burgers and went bowling... I was kinda bad at it but then he showed me how to do it... and there were laser lights!"

Fil raised an eyebrow. "Laser lights?" she paused, then shrugged. "Oooookay....."

Jasmine continued. "...and smoke machines and 80's rock music!"

Fil nodded, smiling to her self. Less than a month ago, Jasmine had had no life outside of her job. Now here she was practically bouncing with excitement
over her successful date. Fil allowed herself a moment of pride, a combination of sisterly and motherly feeling, as Jazz finished her story. "That's
nice...we'll talk more in the morning. Snugglekitty will get a bit confused if he wakes up and I'm not there. Get some sleep now... see you in the
morning, Jazz." With that, Felis stood, shucked her robe and towel, and shifted to her were form in one fluid motion. She nodded to Jazz and padded off
quietly towards the loft.

After Fil left, Jasmine changed for bed, her mind still on a slight buzz. She had been on a date, and had been asked out on a second one… maybe Fil was
right. maybe she wasn't as plain as she thought?

She smiled slightly as she drifted off. Maybe he doesn't mind that I'm a bit odd.

just a litte something to keep my hand in, thanks to fox and ran for leting me use their toons and giveing me some help along the way

hee!

backstory goodness.

One of these days I'll have to write some backstory for Kick.

The only thing I can think of is to quote shamelessly from Dr. Horrible:

"He's a really good looking guy, and I thought he was kinda cheesy at first."

"Trust your instincts"

"But, he turned out to be totally sweet. Sometimes people are layered like that, there's something totally different unearth than what's on the
surface"

"And sometimes there is a third, even deeper level, and that one is the same as the top surface one."

"Huh?"

"like with pie."

Jasmine looked at her target. She'd been trying all night to get it, but some how it kept slipping away at the last minute. Veering of in random
directions, but this time she had it right where she wanted it. "Got you this time." she muttered as she swung at the target.

With a loud clonk, the golf ball proceeded to bounce over the obstacle, on to the green, past the hole and into the rough. Sighing, she slumped her
shoulders and turned to Reeve. "How do you make it look so easy?" she asked.

Reeve had taken her to Para-putt mini golfing for their date, it looked kind of easy, but Jasmine had ended up spending most of the evening digging around
in the bushes, trying to find where she managed to send the ball flying.

Reeve returned from collecting the latest wayward ball. "I think the problem kitty cat is that's you swing the putter to hard, you just need to
scooch it along, not sent it flying." He placed the ball in front of her putter. "Try again, but a bit more gently."

Looking down at the ball, Jasmine carefully pulled back the putter and tapped the ball, then bit back a swear as it stoped after rolling a few inches away.
"I suck at this." She complained.

Reeve grind and gently kicked the ball back to jasmines putter. "What you need is to find a balance, not to hard, not to soft. Let me show you."
Reeve stepped up and gave the ball a tap, sending it rolling all the way to the hole. "See, just need to hit it just right. Wana try again?'

Stepping back up, jasmine placed a ball and tried to relax. "Not to hard, not to soft… okay." She swing at the ball, and watched bounced into a
small water trap. Her ears flattening against her skull in frustration, she went off to collect her ball… again.

"I can't do this, I can't get the swing right." She mumbled, then let out a slight squeak as Reeve stepped behind her and readjusted her
hands on the stick.

"See, you problem is you holding it like you would a club, hoping to move the ball with brute force, what you need is a more gentle touch. Like
so." Holding her hands over hers, he sung the putter and knocked the ball next to his. "See, or do you need another lesson?"

Jasmine blushed a little. "Well, I don't mind the lessons." She mumbled.

"Hee hee, well let me get another ball and…" Reeve trailed off.

"what is it?"

"I thought I saw-" before he finished, Reeve tensed and then wrapped his arms around her and jumped to one side. There was the loud crack of a
high-powered rifle and Jasmine watched as the tree that was behind them splintered.

Reeve rolled off Jasmine and looked around, there was little cover. The safest place to head would be the car park, the hand full of civilians were already
making a mad dash for the exit. One less thing to worry about.

Jasmine looked up and spotted the sniper stepping out of cover, razing his rifle for another shot, there was no mistaking the uniform, Council. She started
getting to her feet, hands fumbling at her pocket for a seed packet when the Marksman fired again. The bullet whizzed pass her ear.

Carp, he's gunning for me. She didn't even bother wondering why, earlier that week she had stoped the council transferring something called
the "shadow seed" into Paragon, apparently it was somehow related to how they made their Warwolves. So this was obviously about revenge.

Luckily, the Marksman was so concentrated on shooting her, he failed to see Reeve get behind him with a putter. Reeve swung the putter down on the goon's
helmet, making a satisfying "clunk" as it hit. Turning around slightly stunned, Reeve grabbed him by the shirt. "I'll show you to shot at my
girl." Reeve growled before slugging him in the jaw, then dropping him like a sack of potatoes.

"You okay Kitty?" he asked running over to her. Jasmine nodded and stood up.

"Yeah, didn't expect that." She muttered as she stood up and brushed her self off. "Maybe we should…" she trailed off the Council
Marksman stood up delivered a kidney punch to Reeve. As Reeve stumbled the Marksman kicked him, sending him sprawling.

The Marksman stepped over Reeve. Jasmine noticed he was starting to twitch, Jasmine started backing away, she'd seen Council solders so that before. The
Marksman let out a brutal roar as his body began to change. Jasmine fell back, her eyes wide with fear as the marksman let out another roar, his body making
painfully noises as it warped and twisted, turning into a creature that caused an almost instinctual reaction of fear. Warwolf

The council Warwolf towered over her, the tatters of his uniform hanging from his massive frame. "You cost me much little cat, so I think it's only
fair I get some form of payback." His voice was distorted by him muzzle. He grabbed Jasmine by the front of her shirt and hauled her off her feet.
"And I think I'm gonna enjoy it, Ja."

Jasmine tried to struggle free, but the wolfs grip was like iron. Jasmine's training told her how to deal with normal attackers, pity nothing in her
training told her what to do when a four hundred pound Warwolf grabbed you.

The wolf leaned closer, its breath reeking of rotten meat. "I think I shall enjoy striping the flesh from you bones little Cat, been a while since
I've eaten one of "your" kind."

Jasmine scrabbled at his arm before an idea hit her, closing her eye's she concentrated and shifted to her plant hybrid mode, they was a bit of pain and
the sound of elastic snapping as she realised she forgot to wear stretchy underwear, but the end result meant she now weighed enough to throw the wolf off
balance.

As he tried to get a better hold of her, she kicked as hard as she could, aiming between the wolf's legs. The beasts eyes crossed as it let out a slight
whimper and dropped her into one of the courses water traps. It staggered back a few steps before recovering and giving Jasmine a look of pure hate.

Before it could make its next move, Reeve body slammed it from behind, pining one of its arms. "I though I got it through you thick skull last time
Fido, leave her alone." Reeve growled as he tried to tip the Wolf over.

Jasmine watched as the wolf reached over its shoulder and dug its claws into Reeves back. There was the horrid sound of flesh tearing as Reeve's grip
started to loosen.

Jumping out of the water trap she pulled a bag of seeds from her pocket with one hand while sending a blast of healing flame at Reeve with the other.

The Wolf tried to step forward towards her, but Reeve wasn't going to let it. "Reeve! Dodge!" she yelled as she lobbed the seed packet at the
wolf. Reeve jumped to one side as the packet exploded midair, covering the wolf and the ground around it.

Before the wolf could figure out what was going on, the ground beneath him exploded as thorn covered vines lash up and the beast, binding its legs. As the
wolf tried to break free, the thorns dug deeper into its legs, causing it to yelp in pain.

As the wolf tried to pull it's self free, Reeve stood up and cracked his knuckles. "Nighty night Fido." He muttered as he slugged the wolf
repetitively in the head till it eventually got the idea and fell over.

After making sure it was staying down, he turned to check on jasmine only to get plenty mooshed as she hugged him. "Are you okay Reeve?" she
asked. He felt a slight tingle along his back as she also sent a another wave of healing flam along it

Reeve moved so he could see her better. "Well I am now kitty cat." As he looked back down, he became aware of several facts, one, she was in her
big green mode, two, she was wearing a wet white shirt and three, when she shifted to big green, her bra didn't. Meaning he was getting quite a eyeful
"Wowza."

Jasmine looked down and saw what he was staring at. "Reeve!" she squealed, letting him go and crossing her arms over herself. "Man this is
embarrassing." She mumbled as a blush worked its way across her face.

Reeve chuckled as he rummaged in his pocket and produced a Zig teleported beacon. Kneeling next to the wolf, he tagged and activated it, stepping back as
there was a flash and the wolf was off. "So kitty cat, guess the dates over for tonight, shame Fido went and ruined it."

"Yeah… Um… it's still kind of early… want to do something else?" she nervously asked.

Reeve grinned. "Sure kitten, but I think we need a change of cloths first, don't you?"

She blushed again, looking at her sopping wet shirt. "Um… sure." Taking a deep breath she asked. "How about we go to my place and watch a
movie… or … something…" she trailed off, cursing her self under her breath. Man, that just sounded like a wanted in his pants.

Reeve smiled slightly. "Just movies?" he asked.

"Um… yeah... you don't have to if you don't want to." Jasmine blabbered.

Again, Reeve smiled at her, not his usual cheese one, but a rather nice friendly one. "Kitten, it would be my pleasure." He offered his arm to
her. "Now what sort of movie did you have in mind?"
