I was just amused by the fact that the "fatherly" overspell of the Midnight Mansion is named "Ward." Because clearly Percy Winkley is the Beaver.
Also, Ward makes a direct reference to D&D when he gives you the ability to call him rather than come back to him for new missions, quoting the restrictions on the Messenger spell from every edition of the game except 4.0.

I loved that when working for the Black knights, toy don't get "ask about current mission" you get "Continue on with the Quest."
That made me laugh when I realised that
"The Quest is the Quest."
