Issue 24 introduces Martial Combat and Martial Assault as free-to-VIP secondaries for Blasters and Dominators

Quote:Martial Combat (blaster secondary)
•Chi Push (repel followed by knockback (cool new animation)
•Storm Kick (melee)
•Dragon Kick (melee)
•Dragon's Tail (PBAoE melee)
•Burst of Speed (AoE self TP)
•Reach for the Limit (Build up auto power—Chance for +dam and +ToHit on every power)
•Reaction Time (toggle—+absorb over time, +revocery, -move on enemy; 10 seconds of +speed on toggle off)
•Inner Will (self heal and ,ez break—only unsable under 50% end or health or when mezzed)
•Throw Sand (cone foe stun)

Martial Assault (secondary for Dominators)
•Shuriken Throw (has a new animation)
•Thunder Kick (melee—MA port)
•Trick Shot (chain power—shuriken bounces between targets)
•Spin Kick (front facing cone like the incarnate power without the teleport)
•Envenomed Blades (build up power; adds toxic damage to all attacks for a time)
•Dragon's Tail (PBAoE melee)
•Caltrops
•Masterful Throw (snipe; chance for DoT damage)
•Explosive shuriken (single target with chance for splash DoT)

Powerset demonstration is about 15 min. in.

I'm going to have take a serious look at rerolling my DP/Kin Corruptor, given this is *exactly* fitting her concept. Less brutally overpowering, more ridiculously over the top.

Hrrrm. Not gonna re roll prime. Or at least not yet, anyway. I do, however, have a BR alternate who's unwritten as yet backstory is Crey made me a daughter, only to find that unlike Regnar Rats, she is closer to my original memory engrams personalitywise and said Up them. So, re roll her with MC and see how she plays.

I think they plan on keeping Incarnate Powers a VIP/Subscription-only Thing. It's possible that might change, but unlikely.

I think you can unlock it on a character by character basis simply via one of the merits (astral possibly). Check the Ouro vendors.

You have to be a Subscriber to even begin with Incarnate powers. You can't do any of the Arcs or Trials if you're not a VIP, so you can't get any incarnate-XP unlock them.

Thats annoying.. most other F2P games do have stuff behind a subscriber wall, but you CAN buy your way past it with their item shops (DDO as my prime example).

Make it some crazy price (my example of $30 is good) that people would REALLY have to want to only do that one character, but give people that option... as it is now, Paragon is getting no money from me. That'd be an extra $30 they didnt have before...

Ok.  after a little forum diving on the subject, i have to raise a point, so you all can ignore me iffin i get preachy.
Ahem.  Even with the added Sustain on most Blaster Sets, Martial Combat still outdoes all of them.  Not only is the build up an "autofire" power, it has 2 sustain elements, one of which is an absorb.
Unless people want something for a "Theme" most new blasters with stick with Martial Combat just for the ease of play.
Now, are there ways to fix this, yes.  They could change another power per set to balance out with Martial Combat.  Ice manip could easily have an absorb armor, Mental Manip could have a "Decoy" power that draws agro but doesn't attack.
While DS, Ran, and Base know my initial opinion of Martial Combat (I feel it just panders to the Blapper Whiners), using Martial Combat's powers as a new baseline, they could easily improve ALL of the blaster secondaries.
Just my own thoughts, I'll burn my soapbox now.

New enhancement sets and changing less useful set bonuses sounds interesting.

Although I'm disappointed to find that apparently nothing has been done about the pop-up tray for Kheldian forms yet.
