I certainly never thought about it past the WWII usage. I would imagine it would have been retired in favor of a different name for a formalized post-war military super organization, but as I'm at work and have no access to my books or notes at the moment (hell, most of my notes for IST contemporary to its writing are on 360K floppies, I haven't had access to them in years), I can't say so definitively.

I still have a 5.25" drive... no promises whether (a) it works, or (b) disks that old are still readable, though.
