My take on this one is that it absolutely convinces anyone in AOE that Doug is an absolute fighting badass that they do NOT want to mess with, with the downside that it actually takes away all his fighting skills and talent in the process! I think the only way this could be useful is if someone managed to negate the 'Stay away' effect and attack a girl Doug was protecting, in which case he would become an absolute badass again and make the person 'a goner'. This would only be useful under REALLY specific circumstances.
