Does anyone know, or know where I can find, the lyrics to Stillwater's song "Mindbender"?
Thanks!

me either.... I've checked most of the lyrics sights, and none of them have them.
If this is for what I think its for, have you considered using the Bangles "I'll set you Free" as a possible substitute? It happens that I was listening to it in the car today and I was thinking that it could be used to help solve the task 'The Fates' have given Doug..."I was an Otaku before those kids came along and changed the meaning of the word."

NO QUARTER!!!
-- "No Quarter", by Echo's Children
Interestingly enough, I just got an email with a fragment of the lyrics in it -- the very fragment I've been trying to decipher from my copy of the song. I think I can transcribe the rest without a problem...
No, it's not for DW2, Star Ranger; I was more looking for a good candidate for another mind control song. Strictly speaking, "Mindbender" probably isn't it -- it's about a guy who comes across a talking guitar in a pawnshop -- but I like the refrain, sung to a bluesy sort of tune...
"My mother was Gibson,
My father was a Fender,
That's why they call me
Mindbender..."
As for the Bangles song, no, I hadn't considered that. For anything.

Me

While browsing through a pawn shop /
I saw this old guitar / Its keys were bent
and rusted / Its body scratched and scarred /
Holy Moses, Would you believe that guitar
began to talk? / (Spoken softly) I swear it
did / Now It sounded like a beacon / I wasn't
stoned or drinkin' / When I heard that talking
guitar say... / My Daddy was a Gibson / My
Mama was a Fender / That's why they call me...
/ Mindbender... / Mindbender... That's what
they call me / You better believe it / it was
a mind bending thing / I said now listen guitar
/ what you trying to do? / People will think
I'm crazy / if they see me talkin to you / He
said / What's that you say? / I said you better
hold your tongue / Now it sounded like a beacon
/ I wasn't stoned or drinkin' / I swear I heard
that guitar say / My Mama was a Fender / That's
why they call me... / Mindbender... / Mindbender...
That's what they call me / You better believe
it brother / it was a mind bending thing

WAY TO GO !!!! I haven't heard that song since I was in 8th grade. And I've only heard it twice. Saw the movie "Almost Famous" lastnight (23 Nov 03). Pretty good, could've been better. I missed a chance to see Stillwater and Mothers Finest back in late 70's as a child. They were playing at Jekyll Island, GA. Can't quite remember why I missed it.
"Me", thank you!

"Flan on!" -- The battlecry of the Human Dessert
On the copy of the song I have, the lead sings "That's my name" instead of "That's what they call me". I can't see how the latter would scan, but it's probably just the way the arrangement goes.
