I've googled but unfortunately, I've forgotten both the author and the title of the story.
It's basically an original fic roughly based on System Shock featuring a hacker who removes the ethics and moral limitations on SHODAN and wakes up to find the entire station deserted and trashed. Sort of cyber punk, sort of horror/mystery/Resident Evil vibes. I think it might have been recced on this board a long long time ago.
Anyone remember this?

I wish there was more to this story, or perhaps a sequel.-Terry

Thanks!
And agreed. :/
A fic I have been looking for off and on over the last few weeks:
Ranma gets involved in a Senshi-Yoma battle, saves Sailor Moon at some point, and pictures are taken. A media circus starts up and spins out of control in typical Neriman fashion, proceeding into the assumptions that Tux-boy is gay, and that Usagi is pregnant with Ranma's child.
Some of the waypoints on the spiral into total chaos: Tux-boy becomes a symbol of gay pride and his efforts at correcting this view of him land him in jail in his civilian identity. There is, of course, the Great Ranma Hunt as he and Usagi are temporarily on the run together. The last I saw of it, Usagi and Ranma were headed for a shotgun wedding with a silence glave in place of the shotgun.
I think it was on ff.net, but it might have been a Addventure thread instead.

No, I don't believe the world has gone mad.  In order for it to go mad it would need to have been sane at some point.
