Okay, I can't remember title, but I'm pretty sure I found it on FFNet after following a recommendation from here.
The basic premise: After the end of the anime, Kaoru wishes that Kenshin could have had the life he'd wanted with Tomoe. Her wish is granted: She's sent back in time to save the pair of them from the killers, and they are left to live their lives. Kaoru herself then takes up the wandering life that would have been Kenshin's, and eventually returns to the Kamiya dojo just in time to meet a certain Battousai-imposter... and then things get a little complicated.
Anyone remember this one?
