In the spirit of the recent Buffy thread I present the Stargate fanfic recommendation thread. I recently started watching Stargate off and on (more off than
on) and decided I would like to kill some time reading fanfic about it. I'm pretty much caught up on continuity, I believe. I tend to prefer stories from
the TV show that focus on Jackson and Carter over those that focus on O'Neil and I find Teal'c (and everything associated with him) hopelessly boring
(wow, yet another honourable warrior race culture guy!).
So, any recommendations? Crossovers (provided they aren't with series that are too obscure) are okay, as are SIs and anything else you can think of.

I've made my opinions on Mirror Image clear, I think, Hotpoint.
Needs to tone down the X-Com Uberness.

According to X-COM canon I've already nerfed them a bit, they should be more advanced by now than they are in the Fic because they're already two
years into the war and still only using Laser Rifles
Don't worry, the Sectoids have some aces up their sleeves and XSGCOM is in no position to deal with Goa'uld Capital Ships so it's a long way from
curb-stomp territory (even if the Jaffa are even more outgunned than they were in the series). Also the X-COM attitude to aliens is going to bite them on the
arse eventually, they make O'Neill look incredibly diplomatic
Well, that's not my only issue with it. The other problem is the way you have the US government and the SGC just roll over and take it up the arse from
X-Com's takeover. This is something that the US, USAF, and SGC would - and canonically did - fight like hell to prevent. I just cannot accept that it would
happen the way you've described, and that totally ruins WSOD.

Wow, this is very, very good. I am totally hooked on this. Please tell me its finished. It looks long enough to be, but I'd hate to get to chapter 3x or
whatever and its just meandering off...

Last I checked, it was, in fact, complete.

It's the often-dreaded crossover between Stargate and Buffy. But it's my all-time favorite, and it focuses far more on the people than their secrets...
although that comes out eventually. They do a bang-up job showing what it would be like for Xander to discover he has a dad that's 180 degrees different
from the home life he had before, and they peg Jack perfectly as the man who finds he *wants* to get to know this grown-up person he knows nothing about,
hasn't the slightest clue how to do it, and has to hide what he does every time he tries to build a connection.

Go to
www.fanfiction.net. They have all the titles listed. If you don't know where they are, use the search engine to find them. They're all there.
Many of them are in the Misc category (most but not all).
PROTIP: Ancient Internet Custom decrees that when recommending fic, the recommender provides direct links to their recommendations instead of telling people to
look them up themselves.
Also, you have a Kerian Halcyon fic listed among your recs, so I openly question your taste, your judgement and possibly your mental faculties.

Many thanks to all - and apologies to anyone I may have offended. I was just looking for clarity among the 'Kage Bushin' of FFnet. (i.e. most fics have
10 + identical looking brothers when it comes to crossover and title)
