HP/MASH: When he hears how little Harry is orphaned has been orphaned, he winds up not with the Dursleys, but his grandfather's brother Sherman, a squib who emigrated to the US in 1900 to be shut of British magical society's prejudice but returned to share his wealth of experience when the war with Voldemort heated up, having finally retired from the Army.

I put this here because there's nothing about it that Should Not Be, but really I don't see any way that being raised by Col. Sherman Potter (Ret.) would be different than any other "raised by (nonDursley nonMagical)" story, of which there are already an abundance.

Except that Col. Potter would inevitably draw along other cast members from MASH in the style of the later novels (even if he isn't a member of the MASH novel cast himself), either with them coming to England, or Harry visiting all his "aunts" and "uncles" in the States -- can you imagine a Harry raised in part by Hawkeye Pierce, Klinger, and the rest, even if it is 40 years after the Korean War? And just imagine the range of experiences he'll have from being "related" to both Radar and Charles...  Hell, a patriarchal Radar could probably teach him a thing or two about dealing with "special abilities".

Good point about Radar (Also, one of the best X-fics I've ever read, for all it's so short.) Even so, though, MASH was always about a bunch of mostly ordinary people trying not to go any more crazy while ealing with a high-stress situation. I'm not saying that wouldn't be a valuable skill for Harry, or that I wouldn't read it, just that it's already been done with different faces n+1 times over.

Oooh.   Would Belldandy count as an Outsider?

Not IMO. She'd be a Divine.

-I think that the AMG cast is more a section of high powered angels that are part of an experiment to see if semi-regular rebirth will keep angels from going screwy.  Likely fallout from the Denarians.  Short answer here is that Belldandy is more avatar of a high ranking angel (possiblely arch) than an Outsider.  She, and Hild for that matter, just aren't alien or psychotic enough to actually qualify as the Outsiders of DF.
-On the other hand, I can see the AMG mythology taking over for the Fairy Queens and Fey.  It would take very little to get the same basic effect on DF.  The odd thing is that this means that Urd ends up the effective Heir (in denial) to power on both sides of the fence... who isn't actually picking a side.  She just likes her sisters more (at least openly) than her mom.  Urd is the offspring of both current leaders.  Though that would lead to Belldandy and Mara as the Heirs offical.  I can totally someone summoning a full on knowledge demon to try figuring out what the hell is going on with Harry and it just keels over and won't stop cackling.  Though Skuld getting a techbane instead of a mechanic will make her more unhappy than usual.
----
HP/MASH... all I can say is that when this Harry, knowing Klinger, sees the way the wizarding dresses its going to taint his faith in them forever... as far as he is concerned the entire society is attempting to get an honorable discharge from society at large ... or maybe that Klinger was using them as his template.
"We've just swapped Judge Harry T. Stone and Princess Luna between their respective Night Courts.  Let's see which side decides they prefer the new status quo, shall we?"

No, seriously, I could completely see Luna presiding over the sitcom Night Court's zany bench (complete with unresolved sexual tension, heh).  The Arraignment Court Bench Voice, tee hee!  Harry... give him the power to handle Luna's duties, and I can totally see him rolling with the ponies.  And going to any lengths to find the Equestrian Mel Torme....

The Fey aren't affected by techbane. It's hinted that the whole thing is at least partially a result of humans having Free Will and Fey... not.

uh ECSNorway, read what I wrote... AMG mythology replaces the Fey... and Skuld is likely to be effected by techbane on principle.
Except that Odin shows up in canon, and he has tech that is explicitly stated to be immune to Dresden's techbane effect.

From out of nowhere at all... I suddenly have a burning desire to see a "Dresden Files" graphic novel, as done by Phil&Kaja Foglio.  Steampunk optional.  I'm particularly thinking of how Harry's deadpan snarky narration would convert into wordless visual gags....
you are aware that they have started to release several dresden files stories as graphic novels (done in a more classical style), right? And that Butcher has professed to thinking of the story in those terms when planning things out in his head?

Oh, I've seen some of the "regular style" graphic novel adaptations.  But I was thinking in particular of the Foglio style.  The M.Y.T.H.-Inc book conversions were, in many ways, even more gut-bustingly funny than the original prose novels, in large part b/c so much of Skeeve's internal 1st-person narration was converted into sight gags and, ah, "alternative narration."  And it just hit me that Harry's hard-boiled monologues could travel the same route, without giving up any of the Dresden noir-ness.
Xander's Wedding Tackle

Multiple Crossings > Xander-Centered

Summary: After defeating the demon who showed him how everythhing could go wrong, Xander said he couldn't risk it coming true despite having been a trick, and walked away from his wedding to Anya. What if someone intercepted him before he could get too far, and took him on a tour of the possible futures where things went right? Contained in a series of brightly-colored Scooby shorts.

- CD I grant you, this is mostly constructed to facilitate the pun, but you know you'd read it just for that...

Not a crossover, just a bunny. . .
What if Hinata had been sucessfully kidnapped - and she was raised by the Raikage and Killer B?

Necratoid

The hard parts would be that she'd be screwed up from the time before those two took over, the damage that them keepng a clan head's daughter as a ward (its not like they don't know were she came from),  and keeping Hinata Hinata-like what with her being raised by a possibly crazy rapping demon container... for one thing I'm seeing her as being the little sister of two demon containers and not actually being as cowed.
Ignoring plugging the hole in team 8... it would be an act of naked aggression and mocking/taunting for a Kage to be keeping the daughter of someone so prominent as a ward... I'm thinking at least an extra war in there, probably the Hyunga being Itachi bait as they aren't allowed to actually retrieve her by force.  Hinata's dad does have a large force of troops that can be ordered to go for it on pain of melting brains... and pain.
Its likely that that clan verses village war could actually be what gets the old Lightning Kage killed/deposed.  There may simply not be enough of a clan to raise her... which means that Hinata is being trained/raised as a an apologe thing.
If Uchiha also fall the landscape is going to be unrecognizable and leave Negi in an ugly spot of an avenger without a real target... he shouldn't be sealed by this point.

She'd leave a very different hotel/boarding house in the care of her grandson Keitaro...

(Or is this not a crossover with Love Hina and something else I don't recognize?)

It was Naruto based Hinata.. but I'm not sure what your idea actually would do... okay maybe amuse her with their ninja antics.
I may have suggested this before, but K-On! and Gossamer Axe.

The Wanderer

...okay, just the fact that someone would suggest that means that I need to find out more about what K-On! is about.

I think that might actually work. Even if the typical resident of Ropanor is on a much higher level than the Cats. Bean Bandit would fit in and would know doubt give some the same shivers that Roberta does.
