Eh. I'm still enjoying all the actual ongoing fics I've seen based on the idea, and the piles of loosely connected scenes have their moments, which is pretty much what you're going to get from a pile of loosely connected scenes anyway. (The "X has to hide from hordes of people who want to sex him to death" thing is tiresome, but it was long before I saw anyone using this particular framing story, so whatever.)
