The original book didn't involve mad science, or even really have any central characters; it was simply about a land where food naturally fell from the
sky, and everyone was happy... until one day the hamburgers and pancakes and stuff started to get bigger...

a very interesting take on the childrens book. It certainly has me interested, if only for the MAD SCIENCE aspect of it.
