I'm reading it with a kind of dazed fascination, watching the Minbari (and to a lesser extent, the Vorlons) setting up this massive train wreck for themselves. Not to mention that the near-universal paranoia of everyone on the B5 side seems to make it impossible for anyone to really understand what's going on with the Federation -- how that plays out will be fun (if painful) to read. -- Bob --------- For Jor-El so loved the Earth, he sent his only begotten son... Re: Thin Veneer - M Fnord - 01-07-2006 Quote:I have, and truthfully... it's not really worth it. Most of it's pretty tightly linked together, which means that it only makes sense if you've slogged through the entire series from front to back. The writing isn't quite good enough to justify that much dedication. Plus, I might add that Thin Veneer is the only story that has any contributions from Ed in it, so if you're reading for the Becerra factor, don't bother with the rest. (Incidentally, for the deeply masochistic there's an extremely long development/comment thread on spacebattles.com that has a bunch of extra information plus a look at the story's main audience.
