Rob, I like that in both directions. We've secretly replaced River Tam with River Song.. she can still shoot scary good, but imagine the interaction with Jayne..

My favorite is still a slip of the tongue last night which combined two characters, and created "Lex Lucifer."

I honestly wonder how many people will get the second half of that reference... on the other hand it would drive Skynet batty trying to figure out where he went.

Brilliant!  IIRC, though, I've heard that Burroughs' estate has people out actively trolling for copyright infringements.

The first book, at least, is old enough to be in the public domain - and that's the book I referenced.

With a movie out soonish, I'd think that they'd want extra publicity.

In a less scary crazy-crossoverish idea that has actually been done. I present the role playing game, Diana: Warrior Princess. Based on the hit series from some thousands of years in the future which portrays the 20th century with all the accuracy Xena and Hercules gave to ancient history (i.e. barely any attempt of accuracy at all).

Ah, yes - Victoria and Albert Einstein, living in Windsor Castle across the river from Detroit Castle... huckster and con-man "Wild" Bill Gates... Jean-Claude Van Halen, master of the martial art of Su-Doku (no, wait - he was from the sequel game, Elvis: The Legendary Tours). We've had a discussion of this game in the past... ah, http://drunkardswalkforums.yuku.com/topic/2986]here it is.

Discovered something interesting. Remember the They Saved Milton Keynes fic (Top Gear/Wallace & Gromit crossover) that was linked to a few months back? Turns out it was based on a play test game of "Fanfic: The Role Playing Game" that Marcus put together using a variant of the Diana: Warrior Princess rules.

Interesting thread... I like how Marcus is sent off to TVTropes, and makes his next post 21 months later. That site really is a time sink!
