I finally updated my webpage to include the last fic recommendation thread put in the archives on dec 27 of 2007 and I thought I'd ask for opinions before
I start adding the fanfic links from this the current working version of the thread.
I was wondering.
Has anyone noticed any problems?
Have any suggestions?

The way I usually use the currently 350 Kbyte file is to load my copy from my local hard drive into a browser and then use the find in webpage function of the
browser to look for the link or types of fanfics I'm currently interested in.

Yeah, I read that right up until "and now I'm going to skip forward without any actual storytext because I'm doing everythign exactly like the
manga". That's instant fail for me. I stop reading any Ranma 1/2 fanfic which has the words "and insert the explanation about Jusenkyo
here". It's just a symptom of lazy writing.

it's funny...
I read that comment about 'and now I'm going to skip' and I thought it was actually cool not to have to re-read the same pointless rewrite...
...I agree the actual comment was uncool. The author should have stuck with the original 'Suiren' format (which this fic seems heavily inspired by in it's
underlying thrust) where each scene is ONLY the change points and or differences/AU events and everything else is left out.
That always feels like a better approach to me with incremental AU rewrites.
Although given that 'Suiren' is the chinese equivalent of 'Prometheus', I'm not sure that name for Sakura's clan matches the 'white
lily' angle as it seems to be supposed to.
'Suiren' and the will of fire makes sense... white lilies and self brain surgery not so much...

Been a good week for fanfics in spite of being busy I've run across 3 I thought were worth recommending.

Neutral". It is a Ranma raised/trained by Nodoka with few twist and unusual changes to the standard implimentation of the idea.

Ozzalos isn't that bad with character bashing. There's a little bit maybe, but he doesn't dwell on it, and it's not terribly extreme (No
uber-psycho Akane, or Ryoga) though he does use the typical zomg sent to another word by Ryoga/mouse/Kuno once. He's more identified by his fascination
with getting Ranma stuck as a girl. Story isn't bad, but not terribly original. Basically a Nodoka takes Ranma on training trip instead of Genma and a
Ranma gets cursed when he's younger fic put together.
