I'm digging this. The author has the dresden voice down pat (even though it's not strictly dresden). It also has done a good job of dealing with the different nature of magic between the two sources.

I'm digging this. The author has the dresden voice down pat (even though it's not strictly dresden). It also has done a good job of dealing with the different nature of magic between the two sources.
It wouldn't be Harry Dresden without screw ups, social disaster and bittersweet endings.

harry dresden is, as mentioned in the story, usually the underdog... right now, harry is a 20-something dealing with the problems of an 11 year old... i fully expect him to, eventually, try to waltz his way through a problem only to find out it's a little bigger than he expected.... at least, i hope that happens

It has already been hinted at that his instinctual reaction to things does not measure up to what he can do. I fully expect him to do or say something that will propell excrement towards the rotary device at high speed. Not to mention his hang ups with mental/transfiguration magic. I eagerly await his first transfiguration class and/or the troll.

Oddly enough, not so much. There's a few spelling mistakes and such, but it has both settings come together surprisingly well. Plus, it's set in 2999, so the Clans aren't there to be a pain.
