In every generation, there is a remake... - robkelk - 11-23-2010 http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/11/23/buffy_movie/]According to The Register, there's a new Buffy movie in production. Early production - no director or cast has been announced. It's a "re-imagining". Also, "Joss Whedon, who created Buffy for the original 1992 film and subsequently guided her to TV success, will play no part in the project." And the writer is currently "'fighting through' the script". I'm not holding out a lot of hope for the quality of this movie, but I could be wrong... -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Black Aeronaut - 11-23-2010 Hooooooo boy. Get the Holy Water everyone! This one could be nasty! - Jinx999 - 11-23-2010 I see no grounds for optimism. - Sweno - 11-23-2010 They are trying to remake Buffy, with no interaction on behalf of the creator of the series? *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* -Terry ----- "so listen up boy, or pornography starring your mother will be the second worst thing to happen to you today" TF2: Spy - Stephen Mann - 11-23-2010 It's worse than that. They bought the rights to the original movie, not the TV series. That means that whatever they reimagine, it won't have any of the TV series goodies that people love; Willow, Xander, Giles, etc. |
