Hm. By sheerest chance I reread this thread, and I realize, that by sheerest chance another thread that was even older (but which has seen more recent activity) actually explains what this song does.

While looking for something else, I rediscovered this. In the years since this was posted, the relevant action was evolved out of the plot, and no longer appears in the story.
A similar moment, though, will appear in DW13...
