May 8 was the 74th anniversary of VE Day.

That's a perfect day for the Department of Veterans Affairs to post a memorial video, even if it's only 40 seconds long.

There's just one little problem...

Veterans Affairs took down the video, but not before CBC kept a copy. They re-posted the video here.

<sarcasm> Good thing this wasn't for the 75th anniversary, when people might actually have been paying attention, right? </sarcasm>

I'm fairly sure that women did serve in the conflict, even in the west.

Not in combat roles, sure, but in homefront support roles? The most famous of those is currently the Queen of England.
