Sounds like an Irish version of the late Peter Gzowski, who ran a wonderful show called Morningside on CBC in Canada for years from 1976-97. It's a pity that radio in Canada these days isn't as good as that. I miss listening to the man.

Fred Silverman, "legendary" TV programmer who was the only man ever to head creative departments at all three major networks, has passed away, age 82. If you liked anything on ABC, CBS or NBC during the 1960s-1990s, it's likely he had a hand in it. He's probably the only network executive to be the punchline to a Robin Williams routine as well...
