Ah. You know, I didn't know that meaning of the word "clew" (which I believe is the same as "clue", allowing for the inevitable differences between American and British spellings). Interesting. But very, very obscure; I mean, if I didn't get it, how many of my readers will?

I am pretty sure "clue" is the same in British and American English.
I don't know about "clew" in American, but I thought your audience was more likely to be up on Greek Mythology,
and the "clew of thread" in the Minotaur legend...
You're right about the etymology, "clue" comes from "clew", says the OE Dictionary.
I suppose "The Art of Clew-do" would still be too obscure...
