Yeah, it sounds to me like as long as you make it completely obvious there's no infringement going on, its okay.
Oh well, I'm still going to use the Mike/Sally cameos in TtP.--

Sounds cool. You can always call it a "tribute", which lets you get away with a lot. Or a pastiche, that's a good one, too.
