Japan's Oldest Robot - robkelk - 05-01-2008

Spotted on The Inquirer: Ancient Robot Rebooted

What I find interesting in that article are that the robot was built in Showa 1 - in our calendar, 1928 - and that it was powered by a primitive pneumatic system.

Now, if we were to change "pneumatic" to "steam-powered", and push the date just one year earlier so that it was built in the Taisho era, then Doug might help Kohran build this robot when he visits the Sakura Wars universe.

Just a thought...  8)

Hmmm. He'd want to boost its response time considerably... it's waaaaaay too slow as is.
