[META] If somebody's looking for something to write about... - robkelk - 01-05-2010 ... the http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Main_Page]new wiki has a couple of auto-generated pages: http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... 0&offset=0]Wanted pages and http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Category:Stubs]Stubs. Edit: If it's too much work to come up with something new, there are also some http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... of_cleanup]Pages in need of cleanup. Have fun! Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Black Aeronaut - 01-05-2010 ...Wow, that's a lot of links. - robkelk - 01-05-2010 Yep. I've knocked a few dozen off the "Wanted pages" list by setting up redirects, too. As to what I've been doing since the initial post in this thread: New article added, put together from existing information: Disambiguation pages added:
(If somebody can come up with a better icon for the disambiguation pages, feel free.) As already mentioned, miscellaneous redirect pages added. And I've added a Vision-Impaired Transcript to the first page of http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... uter_Space]The Mystery of the Fen from Outer Space. Somebody else gets to do the next one of these... -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - robkelk - 01-06-2010 I just added this to the opening post in this thread: Quote:Edit: If it's too much work to come up with something new, there are also some http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... of_cleanup]Pages in need of cleanup. More work: New pages:
New Disambiguation page:
(And an auto-generated list of all the http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... tion_pages]Disambiguation pages - I put the category tag in the Disambiguation template, so it'll show up without needing to be specified.) Un-stubbed page:
Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Bob Schroeck - 01-06-2010 Mm. Clarification: Is it "Andy 'Adonis' McMurdo" ?or "Adonis 'Andy' McMurdo"? Both are in the Wanted list along with "Andy McMurdo". ETA: How do you queue a page for deletion? We had "Salvage I" and "Salvage 1", and I standardized on the former (with the Roman numeral), leaving the latter an empty page. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - robkelk - 01-06-2010 Quote:Mm. Quote:ETA: How do you queue a page for deletion? We had "Salvage I" and "Salvage 1", and I standardized on the former (with the Roman numeral), leaving the latter an empty page.Rather than deleting the extra page, I've just turned it into a redirect page. Anybody who searches for "Salvage 1" will now be taken to "Salvage I". (Edit: Y'know, I was going to spend this week off work actually writing, but we got a new Wiki to play with instead... At least I am watching the anime I wanted to watch before sitting down to write chapter 4 of LoGG.) -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Will add more transcripts later, and start including them in the new pages as I add those. Updates should start again this week. -- "Mainly just for fun, you know, cruisin' down the street in my battlemech. Edit: No, the page http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... 22_McMurdo]Adonis "Andy" McMurdo does exist. I've changed the other links to point to that page. (Or are they there already?) -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - robkelk - 01-07-2010 Some of them are, others will follow once I've decided which I like best. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. (It was fun writing the infobox for http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Julian_Friez]Julian Friez...) The writeup for http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Winry_Rockbell]Winry Rockbell now includes her OGJ-era activities. I also hung a "stub" tag on the writeup of the http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Pinafore]Pinafore. "Aargh" moment: The lines "death_date", "death_place", and "death_cause" in the infobox for http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?title=Yoriko_Nikaido]Yoriko Nikaido are commented out, because I can't get the "death_date" data to display. Input the date manually and it comes out fine. Mr. Fnord interdimensional man of mystery FenWiki - Your One-Stop Shop for Fenspace Information "I. Drink. Your. (Bob, please check the Grover's Corners character writeups and double-check that I got the relationships right.) I also created and populated a stub page for 74 Galatea. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. (^_^ ![]() EDIT: Aaaaaaand that'd be me now. Thanks, Rob, for stubbing 36 Atalante. I'd've done it earlier, but time's an issue and my wiki-fu is lacking. (o_o ![]() - Foxboy - 01-15-2010 Number 6... (It kinda helps that I'm the New Number Two on the FenWiki... ) And you're welcome. Don't worry about wiki-fu; right now, we need content more than we need pretty formatting. Mal or I can go in and format text (chech speeling , add crosslinks to other articles, move pictures around so the text flows naturally, and so on), but only if the text is there to be formatted. Just put [[Category ![]() -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of the same sovereign, servants of the same law." - Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012 - Bob Schroeck - 01-15-2010 Oh, by the way, last night I added a new category to the Factions block and page: Earthbound Factions -- for fen groups that operate entirely in the Danelaw like the Knight Riders/Foundation for Law And Government. It might be cool to think up a couple other underground groups who are working with handwavium under the noses of the authorities. (Hm. Come to think of it, I just did... off to the wiki I go now...) ETA: Allow me to introduce the newest faction: The Pellucidarans. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Ebony - 01-15-2010 Quote: Bob Schroeck wrote: Nice. They sort of fit with the Pulpers. Another group that no one's written anything about are the Steam- and Dieselpunks. Although I had an idea for a steam-powered "ether flyer" called the HMS Indefatigable, that was delayed in its maiden flight due to the cost of polished hardwoods and brass fixtures. (Steampunk ships having to look suitably steampunk, else they won't fly.) Ebony the Black Dragon http://ebony14.livejournal.com "Good night, and may the Good Lord take a Viking to you." - Bob Schroeck - 01-16-2010 Makes sense to me. Say, does anyone want to write up the Submariners? I just thought of them, the logical counterparts of the Pellucidarans: Submarine/Atlantis fen -- 20,000 Leagues, Nadia, Voyage To the Bottom of The Sea, SeaQuest, etc., along with everything else along those lines including Aquaman, etc. They probably have connections to those Japanese fen who were trying to raise the Yamato (as mentioned on the media page), and probably aren't strictly Earthbound (given Yamato, Nadia, and the SkyDiver from UFO), but they'd be more concerned with the sea bottom than anything else. Mm. And they're probably focused on getting replicable water-breathing/mermaid biomods, too, but probably have a few Creatures from the Black Lagoon they don't want to talk about. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - M Fnord - 01-16-2010 In other news, I've finally bit the bullet & gotten the bulk of the SOS-Con thread loaded onto the wiki. I'm not sure it makes a lot of sense, and there's bits missing, but I think I got the important stuff. Mr. Fnord interdimensional man of mystery FenWiki - Your One-Stop Shop for Fenspace Information "I. Drink. Your. NERDRAGE!" - Bob Schroeck - 01-16-2010 Can someone take a look at how I coded up the Earthbound Factions category/subcategory? I must have done something wrong, though I can't figure out what -- "Earthbound Factions" doesn't show up as a subcategory on the http://www.fenspace.net/index.php5?titl ... y:Factions]Cateogry:Factions page with all the others. -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
