City of Heroes/Villains VA's - dark seraph - 11-09-2010 while on the ITF today, one of the topics that came up was NPC voices, who would voice who and so forth. after the TF was over, Ran and my self took what bits we remembered (the topic was started right before the Romi fight, so some was lost.) and made a list. then i added a few more cuz i could. ![]() so heres waht we came up with, be interesting to see what you guys think and any sujestions you have for diffrent VA's. Lord Recluse: Lance Henriksen Black Scorpion: Ron Perlman Ghost Widow: Jennifer Hale Sicciro: Frank Welker Captain Mako: Scott McNeil Statesman: Gary Chalk Manticor: Kevin Conroy Back Ally Brawler: Michal Dorn Positron: Corey Burton. Synapse: Seth Green. Sister Psy: Venus Terzaro Miss Liberty: Tara Strong. Citadel: Keith David Nemesis: Christopher Lee Romulus: Brian Blessed - Logan Darklighter - 11-09-2010 Oh this will be fun. ![]() Quote:Lord Recluse: Lance HenriksenInteresting choice. I probably wouldn't have thought about him, but on reflection I think you've got something there. I think Lance can be quite good at the "quiet menace" sort of villain. Quote:Black Scorpion: Ron PerlmanI like all these guys, but I'm going to suggest a Street Fighter style shuffle here. Black Scorpion: Scott McNeil Sirocco: Ron Perlman Captain Mako: Frank Welker Why? Cause: 1) When I saw the name Frank Welker in the list, I immediately thought of Mako. In fact, in my internal headspace I realized I've been unconsciously having Welker voice him for years now. 2) Sirocco - I very much see his voice being portrayed in a similar fashion to that of Slade from Teen Titans, and - guess who? Ron Perlman. 3) Scott McNeil rounds it out nicely as Black Scorpion. Quote:Statesman: Gary ChalkDon't know who the above guy is, so can't say. Quote:Manticore: Kevin ConroyOhhhh.... NOW you're cooking with gas. I approve! Quote:Back Ally Brawler: Michal DornAgain - stamp of approval. Quote:Ghost Widow: Jennifer HaleI'd switch the above two and have Hale do Liberty and Strong do Ghost Widow. Quote:Citadel: Keith DavidI can see it. Quote:Nemesis: Christopher LeeDude - you are really going for a high water mark here, aren't you? That would be awesome. Quote:Romulus: Brian BlessedNow that - that is inspired. Really. Cause how often has Romulus spoke in anything LESS THAN A STENTORIAN BELLOW??? ^_^ - Bob Schroeck - 11-09-2010 Quote:Romulus: BRIAN BLESSED!!!!Fixed the spelling on that for you. Quote:Sister Psy: Venus TerzaroDo you mean Venus Terzo, from Ranma and Transformers and about 150 other things? Out of sheer perverseness, I have to suggest the inverse of this just for fun -- the worst possible performers for the roles. Let me start with these: Lord Recluse: Woody Allen Ghost Widow: Tress Macneille (doing her Dot Warner voice) -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Ebony - 11-09-2010 Bob Schroeck Wrote:Out of sheer perverseness, I have to suggest the inverse of this just for fun -- the worst possible performers for the roles. Let me start with these:That'll be for the infamous "Cold Pizza Nightmare" episode. Also featuring States-Mite, voiced by Scott McNeill (doing his Duo Maxwell voice). Ebony the Black Dragon http://ebony14.livejournal.com "Good night, and may the Good Lord take a Viking to you." - Bob Schroeck - 11-09-2010 And how about: Statesman: Jerry Lewis Miss Liberty: Fran Drescher Manticore: Bill Murray Back Alley Brawler: Jaleel White Nemesis: Joe Pesci -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. - Wiregeek - 11-09-2010 I'm just amused at how you all cannot handle the wrath and majesty of the O'HURLEYCANE. So, for Statesman: John O'Hurley http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_O%27Hurley "No can brain today. Want cheezeburger." From NGE: Nobody Dies, by Gregg Landsman http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5579457/1/NGE_Nobody_Dies - Ankhani - 11-09-2010 Shawn Wallace might make a good VA for Nemesis, too. He's brilliant as Vizzini, at the least. --- The Master said: "It is all in vain! I have never yet seen a man who can perceive his own faults and bring the charge home against himself." >Analects: Book V, Chaper XXVI - Ebony - 11-09-2010 Ankhani Wrote:Shawn Wallace might make a good VA for Nemesis, too. He's brilliant as Vizzini, at the least. It's actually Wallace Shawn, but he could do a good Nemesis, but I think he'd do a better Clockwork King. He's a bit oily to be someone as supremely arrogant as Nemesis. CK froths a bit more. A few more suggestions: Countess Crey: Monica Belucci or Marina Syrtis. Percy Winkley: Wil Wheaton (because Wil's in every damn cartoon these days) General Z: Ben Schultz (aka Leeroy Jenkins) Ebony the Black Dragon http://ebony14.livejournal.com "Good night, and may the Good Lord take a Viking to you." - dark seraph - 11-10-2010 actuly, had a good idea (if slightly) wrong for the Clockwork King. a male Version of GlaDoS. now thats nightmare fule ![]() - Ransan - 11-10-2010 Ebony Wrote:Percy Winkley: Wil Wheaton (because Wil's in every damn cartoon these days)Oddly, enough, that was my reasoning behind adding Frank Welker to the list. ![]() I also have to take credit for BRIAN BLESSED, and that stems from the TF itself: Romulus: (Insert the I AM NICTUS bellow) DS: Did Romulus just order a Large Ham? Me: So that means Romulus is voiced by BRIAN BLESSED? But on the Nemesis debate, my vote went to Peter Cullen using his KARR voice. Also, for sheer wrongness: as Dr. Vahzilok: Tim Curry! And for Statesman: Tim Daly (the titular role from Superman: The Animated Series) - dark seraph - 11-10-2010 Ransan Wrote:Also, for sheer wrongness: as Dr. Vahzilok: Tim Curry!Dr V: Come into the Lab, Check whats on the slab. I know your shivering with Antcipa... Pation! - OpMegs - 11-10-2010 My personal recommendations: Statesman/Recluse: these two actually HAVE voice actors in previous works, both in the CoV trailer and the recent Going Rogue trailer. I rather like their takes. Hro'Dtohz/most Rikti: Frank Welker. Why, you ask? Well, this is the man that did Soundwave... --- "Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay waste." - Ebony - 11-10-2010 OpMegs Wrote:My personal recommendations:To say nothing of most animal noises in American animation. Which means he could do the Rikti monkeys as well! Hero 1/ the honore: David Tennant. any one who's seen him in goblet of fire knows how well he can play a villian. - dark seraph - 03-12-2012 *blows dust off the thread* An update for Dark Astoria, starting with Mot - Star Ranger4 - 03-12-2012 OpMegs Wrote:My personal recommendations:google fu gives the following CoV trailer YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_bpYYzJwCA Going Rogue: http://www.youtube.com/wa...6xio&feature=related Hear that thunder rolling till it seems to split the sky?
