DCUO went free-to-play this week. That's less then ten months since launch, and after it did a massive server merge. I think they're having a rough time.

To their credit, Champions Online has managed to keep afloat after they went free. I don't think DC's gonna implode, but it's not looking to make any big waves. CoH is really the only big name in the Superhero game.

Free2Play hasn't equaled doom for a long time. A lot of games are doing it now, but the speed at which DCUO has converted to it is rather surprising. Although I suspect the PSN hacking mess a few months back didn't help at all.
