O Siem - Proginoskes - 10-05-2010 The Inuk singer/songwriter Susan Aglukark wrote the song "O'Siem". Quote:O SiemEffect: This is probably influenced by the context in which I first encountered the song (the chorus appeared in a YA fantasy novel as a kind of anthem for the good guys in the final battle), but I see this granting Doug and his allies within AoE a confidence (and possibly competence) boost based on the number of allies within AoE other than themselves, and the strength of their connection to each other: it has no effect if Doug is going it alone and is only marginally useful in an Enemy Mine situation, but a collection of friends he made on the Walk would make it quite useful and a group the same size from Warriors Alpha would make it absurd. Still, this song would only be useful in situations where the emotional or psychological battlefields are very important ones. The effect doesn't grant any actual fighting capability; it just makes Doug and his allies resistant (or with Warriors Alpha, completely and unwaveringly impervious) to feelings of hopelessness, emotional isolation, excessive fear, and related emotional and psychological hindrances. Alternately or additionally, "O'Siem" could break any mind control or More Than Mind Control that turns someone against their loved ones. - Bob Schroeck - 10-05-2010 Mm. Nice. I think I might even have a possible use in an upcoming story for it... -- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. |
