So now I've got this really strange image in my head:
Imagine EVA-01 in your head.
Color it primarily gold with blue highlight.
Put two balls on opposite sides of its head with a long gold streamer coming from each one (think Linna's monofilament cutting threads from BGC).
Give it a blue skirt (call it 'pelvic armor') and a large red bow on the chest.
Now make Usagi its pilot.
*shudder*
Feel free to run with it. If you can stand in the horror.*********

Sailor Moon, aka Usagi Tsukino, was *not* the world's greatest mecha pilot. She lacked the
enthusiasm of Rei for high energy weaponry, the finesse of Ami, the combat skills of
Makoto, and (thankfully) Minako's tendency to sing "Lynn Minmei" songs while engaging
the enemy.

Usagi was currently screaming and running around, her actions copied and translated by
the Reflex System to the 60 foot tall giant robot White Lion that she'd affectionately named
"Kimba." She was also ignoring Rei's radio commentary about "cowardly lions".
Well, it's not quite NGE, and it's only a small scene in this story, but that's the best I can find.

Re: From the Pain Files - Bob Schroeck - 09-02-2005

And didn't Bandai or someone actually put out a set of mecha toys designed to look like the Senshi? I've seen photos, and have been assured that they were actual production items.

That's scary, but at the same time oddly compelling.*********

Re: From the Pain Files - Disruptor - 09-02-2005

Noble Gundam series is the Sailor Senshi look-alike

Re: From the Pain Files - Berk - 09-02-2005

The Noble is, indeed, a Sailor Gundam.. In general a copy of Venus.
There's a variant, though, in the manga that's more like Super Sailor Moon.

Re: From the Pain Files - Evil Midnight Lurker - 09-03-2005

I once did see a "Sailor Gundam" model kit that was definitely not the Nobel.
If I ever get back on the ball with SME, there's going to be a Transformers-esque alien race showing up, and guess who their number one planetary guardian's gonna be... ^.^

Re: From the Pain Files - mephron - 09-13-2005

need to dig out the Mekton Zeta Plus Sailor Mecha designs and post them up somewhere. Some of the ideas I thought were brilliant, really. The Mercury was an ECS/ECCS-specialist mech, for example...
and then the Venus one, with the Venus Lovely Chaingun...Brazil has decided you're cute.Brazil has decided you're cute.
