No supposedly about it, Fox; that was indeed the live-action version of Pete's Dragon, one of the groundbreaking movies that incorporated both traditional
animation techniques (the dragon) on-screen with regular actors.

I remember it vividly, though imprecisely; I couldn't tell you plot details without a cheat sheet but I'll never forget that dragon.
