A "monolith" strangely similar to the one from 2001 has been spotted in a photo from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Discuss.
Of course, the story is in The Sun, which is reputedly somewhere below The New York Post when it comes to journalistic standards...

I'm going to wait until I hear about this from another 2 news sources/scientists before making any judgements.
and with the orbiter in place it should be fairly easy to take a new photo at a different time of day, and see how the shadows shifted.
