James May's new airplane - Logan Darklighter - 09-25-2009

A vanity
registration apparently anticipating what he'll say if he ever has trouble with it...

*snork* That's brilliant.

The other amusing part for me - the photographer's notes say he met James May after landing at Duxford. I've been there. It's a fully functioning
airfield, but it's also a museum. Hangars and hangars of vintage aircraft, lots of replica planes (and actual antiques) taking off and landing at all
times.

Now, I mean, possibly May flies there simply 'cause it's one of the airfields reasonably close to London. On the other hand, the fact the
airfield's one of the few places you can walk up and touch bits of aviation history...fits his television persona so well it makes me smile.

erm... I don't watch Top Gear enough to really get the joke. Wikipedea says that it's a play on his favorite catch phrase, but not what that catch
phrase is.
